Our Mission
Why We Exist
The Other Side exists to walk alongside individuals and families navigating grief — transforming loss into lasting strength through purposeful investment in education, early literacy, and mental health. We believe every person deserves the tools to reach the other side of their hardest moments.
Our Vision
A Future of Access and Opportunity
We envision a future where every child and family has equitable access to education, early literacy, and mental health support. By breaking down financial and systemic barriers, we create pathways that empower individuals to reach their full potential and foster lasting hope and opportunity.

our story
United by Purpose:
A Mother and Daughter
"If we are the sum total of all our experiences, if each experience can lead us to a pivotal point, then the creation of 'The Other Side: Investing in Mind, Body, and Spirit' stands as a profound example for it's founders. Birthed of the suffocating grief that comes from losing someone in death who was emotionally elusive in life, it was like sprinting on a life-sized hamster wheel: certain at first that our love alone was persuasive enough for change, only to realize that the prize was outside of our reach, our control."
-Leslie Green, Co-Founder and CEO
Through grief came growth, and from healing came purpose.
The story of The Other Side: Investing in Mind, Body, and Spirit, Inc. began with the passing of Kenneth J. Milon in August 2021—a loss that profoundly impacted his daughter, MacKenzie Milon. In April 2024, MacKenzie and her mother, Leslie Green, held their first developmental meeting to formally establish the nonprofit and bring their shared vision to life.
Through grief came growth, and from healing came purpose. 'The Other Side' represents all of the love that still exists for the ones we've lost and the demand for healthy expression.
